Despite bumping up against the Super Bowl and dealing with coronavirus concerns, the AHR Expo welcomed more than 50,000 attendees to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando the week of February 3.
The event included more than 1,900 exhibiting companies — 577 international and 295 that were first-time exhibitors. This was a noticeably bump from the 2019 Expo in Atlanta when attendance was just over 45,000 with 1,824 exhibitors.
“There is a lot of excitement, and I see a lot of new products,” AHRI CEO Steve Yurek said. “There is also a lot of focus on training. It is giving contractors and technicians with different tools that they don’t have.”
The 2020 show featured more than 200 sessions in the education program, inspired by current and future HVACR trends.
“For a young person like me who is new to the trade, the show introduced me to a whole other aspect of the industry,” said HVAC service technician Victor Grasso, who was attending his first Expo. “I found so many products and companies I would have never known existed.”
The 2020 Product of the Year honor went to Danfoss for the Danfoss CO2 Adaptive Liquid Management Solution.
“We continue to strive through innovation to help our customers and the industry meet their sustainability requirements,” said Peter Dee, sales director, food retail, North America at Danfoss, “and it is an honor to be recognized by the industry for these achievements.”
