Growth in HVACR sales is great for the economy, and industry overall! We look forward to another busy year in 2013!
Average U.S. HVACR distributor sales were up 11.6% in October 2012, according to the Heating, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI). The gain comes after a 4.7% drop in September. Hurricane Sandy helped drive a slight drop in sales in the Mid-Atlantic region. Sandy’s real impact will likely be felt in the November report.
October’s strong sales helped drive up the twelve-month rate of change to 3.9% – its highest level in three months.
“We are encouraged by the positive tone of the economic indicators in general, so expect the negative impact of Sandy to be brief,” said Brian Loftus, market research and benchmarking analyst, HARDI.
HARDI said sluggish economies in Europe and Asia will also continue to be an industry headwind, reducing demand for U.S. HVAC distributor exports.
